"We use hardware audio processing because sound is more warm than with
audio plugin software We use an FM classical audio processing chain with Large Band AGC (automatic gain controller) with multiband AGC, stereo enlarger, and multiband limiter, an old Unity 2000 from Cutting Edge"
Außerdem meinte er noch: "The principe of making sound processing for webradio is to process sound
while keeping in mind that MPEG 1 layer 3 algorythm at 128 kbps cut at 16 Khz ... so you must to keep
clear the high band ... after, you can process rest of the all band like you want ..."
"but some way for you:
- You have to set in form the audio signal before to process it, so use for that a wideband AGC
(Wideband AGC don't change the dynamic, only keep the same max level
- after, add some harmonics if you want to give some brillance and loudness to your sound
- after, put this preprocess signal in you multiband processor
for the multiband processor remember that:
all the sound is made with attack and release time ok ? so if you want to have a punchy or crunchy sound, use short attack and release time, and if you want warm sound, use long attack and release time ...
But be carefull ... with long time, snare drums will disapear... and with to short time, the sound will pumping ... so all is a compromise ...
but the only secret is your Ear... so make your sound step by step, hardware unit one after other, and listen all the difference step by step ...
use good audio card for the play and the encoding process, and please don't use mp3 128 kbps audio sources, prefer linear sources !!!!"
